Transitional Residential
Our Residential Program provides 24-hour structure and intensive clinical treatment for individuals whose substance use has significantly affected their ability to maintain stability in the community.
The program is approximately 28 days, although length of stay is based on each client's individual needs and progress. Treatment includes daily clinical programming, individual counseling, process groups, substance use education, relapse prevention, coping and emotional-regulation skills, recovery meetings, recreational activities, and participation within a therapeutic community.
Clients are challenged to identify the behaviors, relationships, thinking patterns, triggers, and underlying issues that have contributed to their substance use while developing healthier ways of responding to stress, conflict, cravings, and everyday challenges.
Our residential program places a strong emphasis on accountability, active participation, completion of therapeutic concepts and assignments, and genuine effort toward personal growth. Treatment is not intended to simply be 28 days away from substances or a matter of counting down the days until discharge.
Clients are expected to actively work on themselves, practice honesty and responsibility, accept feedback, participate meaningfully in treatment, and demonstrate an understanding of the concepts necessary to support continued recovery.
As clients make progress and demonstrate increased stability, the treatment team works with them to determine the appropriate next step, including the opportunity to continue their recovery in our transitional residential program.
Stoa offers four levels of care. Clients step down as they build stability, and treatment is individualized at every stage.
